Sharon Shannon’s album, The Galway Girl – The Best of Sharon Shannon, reached No.1 in the Irish charts today. This is Sharon’s first Number 1 album and follows hot on the heels of her hit single with Mundy which remained at No.1 a staggering 6 weeks with an unprecedented footfall at retail resulting in 23,000 physical sales. The single also won a Meteor award for most downloaded single. The album, in its 3rd week of release, has sold in excess of 20,000 units.
The single is released in the UK next Monday with the album following on June 9th.

Sharon & Mundy won a Meteor Award for the most downloaded song at this years ceremony. 'Galway Girl' scooped the award for the pair after it has become a favourite both on radio and as part of their love shows.

Hi there, Welcome to the blog. We've just set up a new look sharonshannon.com so we've also set this blog up for odds and ends that we can't put on the site. Unconfirmed tour dates, future projects, how gigs went - for ye too, we can post your e-mails here so send them in.


We will all lend a hand to Sharon to try and get as much info out to ye as possible.
